Susie de Castilho
Although I first practiced in France, I am British and my mother tongue is English. My training as a life coach and in psychotherapy has been mostly in France, I can work in English or French. I lived for several years in Portugal and Brazil, so I can work in Portuguese also. I now practice in Brighton, where I have recently come back to live.
The tools I use in psychotherapy are based on my diploma five year training with the French School of Psycho-Organic Analysis in Paris (EFAPO).* As a life coach my training is based on a completed training over three years to Masters level in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) while living in France, and further trainings in the UK and the USA incorporating family therapy, guided meditation, role play, voice projection. My way of working can comprise both short term behavioural therapies as well as ongoing analytical psychotherapy. Throughout my training I was myself in therapy, but I had already begun with three years Freudian analysis before any of that started.
What is Psycho Organic Analysis?
It is analytical psychotherapy. Using the fundamental theories of psychoanalysis it integrates the rather more physical – or “organic” – aspects of the body which the subconscious allows to emerge in the form of sensations, emotions and feelings. We aim to use everything to listen to what the subconscious is telling us, not only words.
*EFAPO Ecole Française d’Analyse Psycho-Organique www.efapo.fr is recognised by the two French national umbrella associations FF2P and SNPpsy.
I am a full member of the AAPO association and I am currently applying for membership directly to the CEP European Council of Psychotherapy
